Catering

Olives and Herbs is proud to offer catering services to the greater Boston Metro area. Services include small dinner parties for as many as two to twenty or even small outdoor Bar B Ques for 10 to 30. Price ranges can be $25 to $50 per person (this is an estimate and could be more once all your needs are considered.) We start by discussing your preferences and theme for your dinner party or Bar B Que. Next, three separate menus are prepared for you to choose from. Once you’ve made your choice, we take care of the rest doing all of the grocery shopping, preparation, serving (if desired) and clean up. For large parties of 12 or more and when buffet service is not desired, we recommend servers to enhance your dining experience. Typically, each server will add around $60 to $100 to your final bill. Also, some use of rental equipment may be necessary. See note below.

Holding a dinner party in the comfort of your home is more advantageous for several reasons:

• You get to enjoy the company of your guests without being stuck in the kitchen
• Gourmet foods to impress your friends and to feel pampered
• Expert consultation on wine and food pairings to ensure the ultimate dining experience
• You don’t have to go out to Boston to get fine dining and for a lot less than what you’d spend at a restaurant once you count beverages, tax, tip and parking

Cocktail Parties

Cocktail parties are also offered for fifteen to thirty-five with prices ranging from $20 to $45 per head (again, there is no definite limit here.) Classic cocktail menus are prepared as well as hors d’oeuvres for the occasion. At the party, a master bartender will prepare the libations of your desires while you and your guests enjoy some delectable delights of food. For larger parties, servers are recommended. Typically, each server will add around $80 to $140 to your final bill. Also, some use of rental equipment may be necessary. See note below.

Holding a cocktail party in your home or venue of your choice is a great idea for several reasons:

• A great alternative for birthday, holiday or get to know your co-workers better parties
• You don’t have to lift a finger for the evening and can enjoy your guests
• It’s cheaper than going out to dinner
• It’s a hip, fun idea that shows your sense of style
• It’s a great excuse to dress up in cocktail dresses and black ties while you’re sipping on your Old Fashioned!

Tea Parties

Tea party services are also offered as part of our catering services. We offer two plans; the first is a very simple, but nice service that includes three assorted sandwiches (cucumber, etc.), buttermilk scones, and a simple fruit tart with two different types of tea and coffee as well as butter and two jams for $35 per person. This service does not include the services of server, but the participation of a trusted friend or guest (keeping with tea party tradition.)

The second style of service we offer is more comparable to tea at the Ritz. This service includes: An assortment of sandwiches of four to five, two different scones, petit fours, two tarts and/or assorted chocolates. In addition, four different teas as well as coffee and also three assorted jams and/or lemon curd, butter and clotted cream would be a part of the assortment. We would also use serving tiers and platters and a server for the occasion if necessary. This service is $55 per person. Also, some use of rental equipment may be necessary. See note below.

Tea parties are a great idea because:

• It’s a classy change for a bridal shower, baby shower or afternoon social
• It’s a unique Mother’s day gift
• It’s a more reasonable costing tea experience in the comfort of your home rather than having to go downtown
• It’s a cheaper alternative to a dinner party or dining out

Note: Rental use of necessary equipment (China, platters, silverware, etc.) may be necessary for the occasion and this could add slightly to the final price. Please call with questions so we can tailor your service to fit you!
